Jacob is a local musician and educator. Growing up, he always enjoyed listening to the Hessle Waits perform, joining as a bass during his teenage years.

Jacob went on to study Music at the Royal Northern College of Music, followed by an MA in Management in the Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of York and a PGDE through Bath Spa University. He is currently Head of Music at a local secondary school.

As a performer, Jacob is the Principal Bassoonist of the Hull Philharmonic Orchestra and regularly plays in ensembles across the country.

Jacob has served as Treasurer of the Hessle Waits since 2023, spearheading the organisation’s digital transformation and formal registration with the Charity Commission.
